Josie Jo has officially turned into a girl. She puts necklaces on and off by herself. I walk away from her and come back and she's found a necklace to put on. These beads left over from July 4th are her current favorite.

10 month's old!

Josie Jo turned 10 months old yesterday and in honor of the big day, her first tooth began to poke out.  She celebrated by eating leaves and a moth.  Ok, maybe I shouldn't have left her sitting outside by herself for quite that long.

I did a little research to see what other milestones 10-month-olds often reach, and learned that "most children" crawl by 10 months.  Josie has apparently decided, however, that she doesn't wish to be common.  She continues to refrain from such plebeian motion.  Well, I guess when she has yummy moths within easy reach she really doesn't have a lot of incentive to learn to move, now does she?

Josie Jo can pretty much not be bothered to roll over, jump in the Fisher Price jumper, or do pretty much anything besides sit, be held and babble. Thus, our incredible excitement that she has finally deigned to hold her bottle all by herself. . .

Josie's First Music Together Class

Josie started her first music class today. In fine baby form she mostly sucked on the instruments, stared wide-eyed at the chaos around her, and occasionally grabbed at her brother's hair. Here is a photo of her with Amparo, part of the nanny mafia that helps run my childrens' social life.

Josie Gets Dressed Up

Josie Jo is excited about the spring. . .For one thing she's allowed out of the house which is fairly novel for a girl who spent a large percentage of her life stuck inside during the great winter of 2009-10. But also she gets to be dressed up in silly costumes by her parents!
